BUILDING presents, from April 4 to July 20, 2024 , Hidetoshi Nagasawa. 1969-2018 , a major retrospective curated by Giorgio Verzotti , dedicated to one of the greatest artists working in Italy since the end of the Sixties, located in three exhibition venues in the city of Milan: BUILDING , Galleria Moshe Tabibnia , Casa degli Artisti .

The latter location hosts, from 8 May to 4 June 2024 , a further in-depth study of the exhibition project, opening the doors of what was Nagasawa's studio from 1978 to 2007.

On the occasion of the inauguration, Wednesday 8 May 2024 from 7.00 pm , Casa degli Artisti will name the atelier on the first floor in memory of the artist with an official ceremony open to the public.

Since 1978 , giving new impetus to the activity of the House, Hidetoshi Nagasawa, Luciano Fabro, Jole De Sanna and other artists, such as Paola Brusati and Giuseppe Spagnulo, occupied the building - abandoned at that time - and returned it to its original function as a citizen of promoting contemporary art , as the Bogani Brothers had conceived it in 1909.

With this objective, over the years there have been exhibitions of young artists of international fame, as well as moments of debate on art theory , which have made the Casa degli Artisti an indispensable point of reference on the artistic scene of the time - suffice it think of the important restoration initiative of Giorgio De Chirico's Bagni Misteriosi (1994), today visible in the garden of the Palazzo della Triennale in Milan.

On the first floor of the Corso Garibaldi building, Hidetoshi Nagasawa , like Fabro and other artists, had a studio for about thirty years . Precisely in this space BUILDING, in collaboration with the current management of Casa degli Artisti, inaugurates the third location of the Hidetoshi Nagasawa exhibition. 1969-2018, proposing a small collection of works that intend to restore the more planning dimension of the artist's daily work .

Among the works in the exhibition , an important sculpture, Archimedes' Compass (1991), well illustrates Nagasawa's poetics, aimed at revealing relationships of tension and balance in the body of the sculpture itself . Added to this work is a selection of drawings, maquettes and preparatory casts - such as those for Albero (1983), Lampo (1989) and Casa del Poeta (1999) - which give an idea of the artist's ideational and creative process and which for the most part are presented to the public for the first time.
