On the ground floor of Fondazione Ica, the exhibition Picture Window Frame is inaugurated, by Stefano Graziani and OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, curated by Cloe Piccoli.
The project is the second stage of a large commission by Finstral, a company from Alto Adige specialized in the production of fixtures. Invited to observe the production process and the art collection started by the company's founder Hans Oberrauch in the seventies, Stefano Graziani questions the specific genre of industrial photography, focusing the spotlight on the act of documenting itself. For Fondazione ICA Milano, Stefano Graziani delves into the idea of observing, showing, documenting. To do this, he produces new photographs taken in Milan in artist archives, academies, and museums. These works dialogue with the images created in the factories and offices of Finstral in Alto Adige and Valsugana. An integral part of the exhibition project is the display designed by the architecture studio OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, in line with Stefano Graziani's research, with the aim of engaging the public in exploring the space and reflecting on the very idea of exhibition. Picture Window Frame is a journey through very different contexts, where the subject is the complexity of photography itself as a tool for perception and research on the concept of reality.
