Archive Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck opens to the public PROJECT ROOM #11with Eva Frapiccini presenting the result of her research on the archive and history of Van den Broeck by relating some photographic shots to painting, reconnecting the relationship between image, space, and light.

The works proposed for this exhibition project by Frapiccini fit into the poetics outlined for years by the artist interested in the poetic relationship between light, space, and time. For the Atelier Archive, Frapiccini has started an investigative path that stems from the direct observation of the place and its architecture, identifying structural elements that act as membranes between the interior and exterior.
In her exploration, the artist relates the light that animates the space where Pharaildis Van den Broeck painted from 2008 to 2014 with that of some places in the cities, Milan and Turin. Her gaze captures how natural light engages in dialogue with urban space, creating unique and ephemeral atmospheres that play a constitutive role in defining environments as emotional archives of experience.

In dialogue with architectural historian Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, one can understand how glass and lights – which pass through it for fleeting moments that are difficult to capture – represent a possible key to rediscovering art forms balancing between tradition and modernity.
