For the seventh edition of the Furla Series program, Fondazione Furla and GAM - Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano announce Under the Sun, Beyond the Skin, a solo exhibition by Sara Enrico, curated by Bruna Roccasalva.

Under the Sun, Beyond the Skin is a site-specific project that, for the first time since the collaboration between Fondazione Furla and GAM was established, unfolds exclusively in the outdoor spaces of the garden of Villa Reale, opening up new possibilities for the relationship between contemporary art, natural landscape, and public space.

Sara Enrico is an Italian artist whose sculptural research revolves around the notions of materiality and corporeality. Enrico's entire body of work deals with the idea of "transition" and with a constant experimentation and blending of languages that explore the relationship between the object's surface or "skin" and its form and material substance. Integrating approaches from tailoring, choreography, and architecture, the artist combines materials such as cement, pigment, fabric, and steel in configurations capable of evoking latent vitality and articulating a fluid relationship between body, garment, and space.

Under the Sun, Beyond the Skin presents a series of new productions designed specifically for the unique context of the park at Villa Reale and stems from a reflection on the garden as a place where nature serves the landscape project: a human construction, shaped and designed according to aesthetic, philosophical, or social canons, where natural elements and cultural superstructures intertwine.
