Sozzani Foundation

Sozzani Foundation

The Sozzani Foundation is a cultural institution established by Carla Sozzani in 2016 in Milan for the promotion of photography, culture, fashion and the arts.

The Foundation has assumed the patronage of the Carla Sozzani Gallery and intends to continue the path of the important public function that the gallery has been carrying out for 29 years. The gallery is located in a former industrial building, typical of Milanese architecture.

Since its opening it has established itself as one of the most authoritative photographic galleries in Italy. To date, more than 250 exhibitions have been inaugurated, with works often never exhibited before in Italy, in the presence of famous photographers including Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Bert Stern, Sarah Moon, Paolo Roversi, David Bailey, Hiro and David LaChapelle . Once a year the gallery presents an exhibition dedicated to great architects and masters of design such as: Franco Albini, Carlo Mollino, Verner Panton, Jean Prouvé, Serge Mouille, Yayoi Kusama. Exhibitions of great stylists such as Pierre Cardin, Courrèges, Paco Rabanne, Zandra Rhodes and Martin Margiela have also been inaugurated. Alongside the gallery, the bookstore offers a wide selection of new and classic publications in art, architecture, design, graphics and fashion, with a strong emphasis on photography.

The Sozzani Foundation has its own publishing house, Carla Sozzani Editore, also dedicated to art, photography, fashion and design.
