There are three museums of the Novara Cathedral: the lapidary museum - the treasure museum - the chapter house. The Lapidary Museum was born from an idea of the canon Carlo Francesco Frasconi, who in 1813 began the collection of inscriptions of the city and the territory. At the time, the pieces were embedded on the walls of the quadriportico of the canonical cloister. The Cathedral Treasury Museum was opened in the sixties when Don Angelo Luigi Stoppa began to collect and arrange sacred works of art scattered in the various parishes of the diocese or which had previously been received by the deposits of the Cathedral. After an intense renovation work, the Museum of the Treasury was set up in the ancient canonical apartments in the east sleeve of the canonical cloister. During the works, the ancient Chapter Hall was also renovated, which has become an exhibition hall in which the most ancient documents and medieval codes of the Capitular Archive are collected. The Museums propose, in a path that winds through 13 rooms, artifacts and documents that cover a period of time that from the 6th century BC to the entire 19th century AD
