The Sambuca Foundation is located in the historic center of the city of Palermo. The seat is Palazzo Sambuca from which the Foundation itself takes its name; then, through the network created with the stakeholders present in the area, other offices will be opened in Porta Felice, Palazzo Ajutamicristo and Oratorio di San Lorenzo, all spaces in the Kalsa district, which will host site-specific and non-site projects, unifying them in a single design cultural with the aim that it becomes a pole of economic, social and cultural development for the entire territory. The Sambuca Foundation wants to be conceived as a "Diffused System for Contemporary Art". The project is inspired by the concept of "Diffused Museum" conceived in the nineties by the architect Fredi Drugman, professor of Architectural Composition and Museography at the Politecnico di Milano, who theorizes the creation of a network of exhibition spaces that redesign the city to make it same Museum. The project was born from the will of Marco and Rossella Giammona, Paolo Falcone and Fulvio Reina, supported by a group of national and international companies and professionals linked to the development of the city.
