San Bartolomeo Loggia

The Loggiato San Bartolomeo in Palermo is evidence of an ancient hospital destroyed by the bombings of 1943. The Loggiato San Bartolomeo , located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, today hosts events and art exhibitions. Over the years it has been the subject of restorations which have established a new relationship between the monument and the surrounding urban context, thanks to large windows facing the Foro Umberto I, which transform the large naves into long, bright galleries overlooking the sea. Since 2013 the Loggiato San Bartolomeo has been managed by the Sant'Elia Foundation. The Sant'Elia Foundation, founded at the end of 2010, was established with the aim of promoting the diffusion of culture and art as an essential element for the development of society. Since 2013, in addition to the Loggiato, it has managed Palazzo Celestri Santa Croce and Trigona di Sant'Elia. The Foundation is a 360° cultural center, ranging between visual art, musical and literary activities. It also collaborates with public and private institutions and individual collectors, opening up the possibility of hosting meetings and events.
