Arab World Institute

The Institut du Monde Arabe is a cultural institute located in Paris, in the 5th arrondissement of the city. It is an Institute that actively promotes the relationship and cultural exchange between France and the Arab countries. On the seventh floor there is a museum dedicated to Islamic art and culture from the eighth century to the present day. Numerous temporary exhibitions are also promoted in the same spaces. The institute also includes a library, bookshop, restaurant, Arab handicraft shop and an audiovisual room dedicated to Arab content. In addition, from the 9th floor of the Institute you can enjoy an extraordinary view from above over Paris. The headquarters of the Institut du Monde Arabe is an extraordinary architectural building, built to a design by Jean Nuvel and opened to the public in 1987. The architecture of the building is intended as a meeting point between the two cultural traditions, with a decorated facade from Middle Eastern geometries.
