Maillol Museum

The Musée Maillol is a contemporary art museum and exhibition center in Paris. It is located on Rue de Grenelle, in the 7th arrondissement of the city. It houses a collection of 20th century works, the core of the collection of the French painter and sculptor Aristide Maillol. The collection includes important authors such as Ingres, Cézanne, Dufy, Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, Rodin, Kandinskij and Poliakoff. The museum also houses the collection of works of art by Maillol himself. Of particular interest are the sculptures: the recurring theme of Maillol's sculptures was the nude, which he represented with figures with sinuous and softly smooth lines. The Musée Maillol is also an exhibition venue for numerous contemporary art exhibitions.
