From 3 July to 15 September 2025
After the opportunity to admire the painting The Three Ages by Gustav Klimt, which in the summer of 2024 brought over 60,000 visitors to the National Gallery of Umbria, the appointment of the series "A Masterpiece in Perugia" returns, this time dedicated to the Nu couché (1917-1918) by Amedeo Modigliani, coming from the Permanent Collection of the Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin.
The exhibition, open to the public from July 3 to September 15, 2025, will be an opportunity to immerse oneself in the life, relationships, and above all in the research of the young master, whom his Parisian colleagues nicknamed Modì, for the similarity of the name with the French "maudit," cursed.
His complex existence, marked by illnesses, great rejections, and as many successes, will be told through a precious nucleus of 8 works, compared with some works of ancient art, European and non-European, in an attempt to understand how his original and personal language can constitute the modern reinterpretation of past models.
