From 29 October to 1 March 2026
1+1. Relational art is the first major retrospective dedicated to the Relational Art movement, thirty years after its inception, curated by the internationally renowned critic and curator Nicolas Bourriaud.
In the nineties, a new generation of artists revolutionized the discourse of art by opening it up to inter-human relationships, exploring the collective sphere, using social practices, conviviality, interaction, groups, and communities as materials and research tools. The Relational Aesthetics, theorized by Bourriaud in 1998, is now recognized as one of the main artistic currents of the new millennium, with its artists acclaimed internationally: Vanessa Beecroft, Maurizio Cattelan, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Carsten Höller, Pierre Huyghe, Philippe Parreno, Rirkrit Tiravanija just to name a few.
