From 10 July to 7 August 2022
Places of the soul and figurative pretexts praise a special way of seeing. Antonio Finelli describes what he saw without dwelling too much on detail. He captures the daylight in the midst of architectures devoid of human bustle: the result is the visual atmosphere of a motionless world, where one seems to hear the "langage des fleurs et des choses muettes", as Baudelaire imagined it.
In this expressive continuity the light that is deposited on the things seen is above all valid: Antonio Finelli imagines the landscape as "silent nature" and thus continues a fruitful dialogue with the "Roman School" which lives again in the places where his gaze settles. Places with a tradition of painters and art that has imbued streets, squares and even the air of the city. It is a cultured painting that comes from meditation to reach a high degree of expressiveness. The landscapes are engraved like cameos in light and color: the variability of the themes, affirmed without yielding to uniformity, stages the qualities of a touching luminous elegy.
The exhibition organized by Medina Art Gallery with the support of CoopCulture , is enhanced by the critical texts by Duccio Trombadori and Gabriella Centi.
