Contra Spem Spero. Stories from Ukraine collects the stories of 11 Ukrainian artists who tell the current events in Ukraine. These are reflections such as those recorded in a personal diary, memories, observations and hopes.
The curator of the exhibition is Kateryna Radchenko and the works on display are by the following artists: Lyubov Durakova, Nazar Furyk, Kateryna Aleksieienko, Alena Grom, Gera Artemova, Mykhailo Palinchak, Elena Subach, Pavlo Dorohoi, Serhiy Korovainyi, Dmytro Tolkachov and Volodymyr Petrov.
The exhibition is divided into three moments: the struggle, the hope and the consequences. Each of them illustrates the new reality and how people have adapted their lives to war, the struggle for the country's existence, traumatic experiences and the hope that motivates people to continue living.
The exhibition is organized by the Odesa Photo Days Festival and the Palaexpo Special Company, in collaboration with the Representations of the European Parliament and the European Commission, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Embassy of Spain, the Embassy of Sweden and the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy.
