The exhibition is the act of giving back to the public a wider-ranging project, which provides residencies in Rome for internationally renowned photographers and which the Capitoline administration has been pursuing for some time with the commitment to valorising photography and providing the city with Rome of a heritage of images capable of restoring its identity through different perspectives.

For this edition, Francesco Zizola invited to Rome four authors known in the world of international artistic and photographic production - Olivia Arthur, Antonio Biasiucci, Max Pinckers, Alfred Seiland - who measured themselves with completely exceptional conditions, those created by the Covid pandemic -19. Working during the lockdown during 2020, and immediately afterwards, they faced an unprecedented reality by developing thoughts and research that have at their core the themes of time and space, bodies and relationships, urban and interior space. The same themes that characterize the most advanced debates on images and their ways of functioning.

The works presented renew the photographic language and at the same time prepare a clear critique of it.

Through the variety of visual and conceptual approaches, these new productions offer a multifaceted and profound look at the many souls of the City and represent a new and further important legacy for the collection of the Photographic Archive of the Museum of Rome.
