From 3 December to 6 April 2026
From December 3, 2025 to March 29, 2026, Sub Rosa exhibition by Silvia Giambrone in the Secret Apartments of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj Rome, the artist's third solo exhibition produced by Studio Stefania Miscetti.
The exhibition, supported by Princess Gesine Pogson Doria Pamphilj and Don Massimiliano Floridi, brings a selection of works - sculptures, works on paper, videos - many of which were created by Silvia Giambrone specifically for this occasion, to the rooms of the Secret Apartments Doria Pamphilj. Among these, the video of the performance Why then it will be too late (Five visions), held at the Ospitale di Santa Francesca Romana on November 14th, also produced by Studio Stefania Miscetti.
The project engages the artist's works with the nature, history, and richness of the hosting place. The Secret Apartments, located on the ground floor of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, have been used as a residence since the seventeenth century. Today, despite being the museum's headquarters, they retain their private dimension, not for representation, capable of showing the family's history from a different perspective.
Silvia Giambrone's exhibition stems from reflection on the intertwining of personal stories and History, between layers of traditions and social conventions, thus investigating the construction of the domestic collective imaginary.
The title is the abbreviated form of the Latin saying Sub rosa dicta velata est - what is said under the rose is secret - and refers to the Greco-Roman tradition according to which everything said around a table on which a rose was placed, a symbol of confidentiality dedicated to the god of silence, had to remain confidential.
