From 2 October to 2 November 2025
Palazzo Merulana hosts Ultrafisica, the exhibition by Mauro Reggio, curated by Valeria Rufini Ferranti, organized by Medina Art Gallery with the sponsorship of Marziali Caffè.
Mauro Reggio, a protagonist of the contemporary scene, has in recent years consolidated an intense artistic research and a production recognized at national and international level. His works transform urban landscapes into metaphysical visions that recall American photorealism, enriched by dystopian colors and suspended atmospheres.
Painting, sculpture, and architecture dialogue in his poetics, which oscillates between classical archaeology and post-rationalist suggestions. Curator Rufini Ferranti highlights how Reggio's canvases evoke "the deafening silence of empty squares and ring roads, never truly empty," recalling De Chirico and intertwining references to Sant'Elia, De Stijl, and Le Corbusier.
Each work is a suspended frame, the result of a visionary capacity that combines rigor and imagination. Not a conceptual rebellion, but an avant-garde of juxtapositions and forms, capable of updating the great Italian tradition of the 20th century in dialogue with the Cerasi Collection of Palazzo Merulana.
