In line with the constant commitment of both institutions to enhancing the architectural quality of our country, the Prize - held annually - takes place every other year at the two promoting entities and also includes an exhibition dedicated to the award-winning projects.

Three awards are given: for the best intervention carried out by Italian architects or those active in Italy in the three years prior, for the best young designer (alternating between the winner of the MAXXI's NXT program, and the TYoung Claudio De Albertis Prize of Triennale Milano), and a career achievement award.
