Palazzo Roncale is one of the most significant noble palaces in the historic center of Rovigo. Built in the sixteenth century by the Roncale family, it is traditionally attributed to the Renaissance architect Michele Sanmicheli. Its imposing facade and majestic presence in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II make it a reference point of the city's sixteenth-century architecture.
The palace is now a cultural space managed by Fondazione Cassa di risparmio di Padova e Rovigo: a place dedicated to promoting the artistic and cultural heritage of the Polesine area through temporary exhibitions, events, educational activities, and enhancement initiatives. It has hosted exhibitions dedicated to the figures and stories that characterize the identity of the Polesine, including: Cristina Roccati. The woman who dared to study physics, "Giacomo Matteotti. A Story for Everyone", "The Count and the Cardinal. The Silvestri Collection", "Virgilio Milani and the art of the '900 in Polesine".
