The timeline of Roberto Capucci and that of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto with its thirty centuries of history, from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. A marking of time made of clays, gold, glass but also silks, taffetas, georgette, and lamé that extraordinarily inspires and excites.
This is "Timeless Forms. Roberto Capucci dialogues with the MArTA", the exhibition that from March 19 to July 12, 2026, will find space in the temporary exhibition area of the Museum of Taranto with high fashion incursions in the iconic rooms of the important archaeological site in Puglia. It is an original exhibition in its set-up idea because for the first time it relates inspiration and its source.Twenty haute couture dresses, seventy designs including sketches and vintage photos, and then terracotta statuettes, gold diadems, glass, stone, and ceramics in a continuous dialogue between a master, the fashion designer and architect, Roberto Capucci, and the world of ancient civilizations.
The exhibition "Timeless Forms. Roberto Capucci" dialogues with the artifacts of the Taranto Museum inhabiting the entire area of temporary exhibitions of the MArTA, the showcase of the Temporary Art and placing five creations within the first and second floors of the former Convent of the Alcantarini, an eighteenth-century building that houses the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto.Other references to the works of the MArTA are instead entrusted to the multimedia setup. QR Codes positioned under the haute couture garments of the Maison, founded in 1950 with the first atelier on Via Sistina in Rome, suggest connections with the artifacts present in the museum's path.
