In the exhibition halls of the Organic Museum, for the contemporary art section, Soglie the new solo exhibition by the artist Cristina Meloni, curated by Elena Calaresu, will be presented.
In Soglie, Cristina Meloni explores the boundary not as a clear line of separation, but as an unstable space where the usual coordinates of perception are subverted, questioning the position of the observer. The research originates within PAS - Progetto Atelier Sardegna (2014-2015), from the observation of gates and perimeter walls encountered during the artist's travels in the territory. These are elements that make a limit visible, without exhausting its meaning in its material consistency: a threshold can be physically traced, but also suggested, perceived, and internalized. From this reflection, a path develops that, over a period of about ten years, crosses exhibitions and installations focusing on the sky, vegetation, and landscape. "For Organica," writes curator Elena Calaresu, "we are confronted with a selection of three representations of clouds, sky, and water, captured directly from reality and not digitally manipulated. It is in their visual rendering that the artist's competence in the use of audiovisual language is manifested: photographic and moving images that, although drawn from the experience of reality, we struggle to place in a space of meaning. The artist's competence in audiovisual language emerges in the control exerted over the image, both in its photographic construction and in its rendering in motion and in the relationship it establishes with the exhibition space. With the use of monitors, light-boxes, and visual projections, Meloni articulates a conscious relationship with the screen medium, entrusting each device with a different mode of access to the image. It is not about denouncing the technological mediation through which we are accustomed to perceiving reality, but about investigating its possibilities: not just a means of transmitting the image, but itself a boundary, the space within which the image comes to life".
