Collurania Museum of Astronomy

The Collurania Museum of Astronomy is located in the locality of the same name in the hills, near Teramo. The Museum houses the astronomical observatory, one of the most important in all of Italy. The complex was founded by the astronomer Vincenzo Cerulli between 1890 and 1893. The Museum presents a collection of historical instruments used in the observatory. The material has undergone a phase of restoration and cataloging in order to be exhibited and enjoyed by visitors. The exhibition material testifies to the history and evolution of research in astronomy and astrophysics. The Museum offers guided tours and workshops curated by specialized in order to make the visit pleasant and educational. In addition, the museum organizes educational workshops for children and school groups.
