Result of a research among the works awarded with the Termoli Prize starting from the Sixties, now the core of the permanent collection of the MACTE, from October 10, 2024 to January 24, 2025 the Museum of Contemporary Art of Termoli presents the exhibition DISCONNECTIONS: The collection in circulation curated by Caterina Riva.  

Caterina Riva, director of the MACTE and curator of the exhibition, has chosen the exhibited works among those part of the collection of the Termoli Prize, not only to celebrate its seventy years of existence, but above all, by delving into the research and materials of the 20 artists involved, to emphasize how from 1955 to today, the Prize has been an extraordinary inventory of the dynamism of the languages of Art.

With the intention of highlighting some works by artists later awarded for their success, such as Carla Accardi and Mario Schifano, but also to bring back to the public's attention works that were recently exhibited in other museums, like those of Riccardo Lumaca and Tomaso Binga, the exhibition will allow the public to rediscover the works of Carlo Carchietti, Pino Pinelli, Mimmo Conenna and LeoNilde Carabba – returned to Termoli after the careful restoration carried out by the Restoration School of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera (Milan) – but also to note the poor state of conservation of others, a way to prompt their restoration. Each work will be accompanied by historical-artistic cards that will allow to delve into the research, interests, and biographies of the artists, following for example the trajectories ofFathi Hassan and discovering the contemporary practice of the winners of the most recent editions of the Prize, like Riccardo Baruzzi.
