From April 2nd to October 11th, 2026, the largest and most comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the English stables that challenged Enzo Ferrari between the Sixties and Eighties: on display 23 cars, documents, memorabilia, and photographs that tell the English motorsport revolution in the era of Swinging London.

Scheduled at MAUTO - National Automobile Museum - from Thursday, April 2nd to Sunday, October 11th, 2026 - the exhibition The Enemies of the Drake. Enzo Ferrari and the English stables curated by Carlo Cavicchi and Mario Donnini with Maurizio Cilli.

Through a selection of iconic cars belonging to teams known as the "seven sisters" – Cooper, Lotus, March, Brabham, Tyrrell, McLaren, and Williams, as well as cars from other manufacturers – Arrows, Shadow, Theodore, and Surtees – the exhibition, developed in the over 2000sqm space

on the ground floor, tells a season of technical experimentation and formal freedom, between extreme risks, strong rivalries, and distinct visual identities that shaped new cultural imaginaries.

A universe of technology, style, and pioneering spirit, where single-seaters become symbols of an industrial and cultural revolution capable of redefining the imagery of the racing world. Enzo Ferrari called them "the garagistes": they were the English teams that – between the Sixties and Eighties – challenged Ferrari's dominance, until then the undisputed protagonist of Formula 1. With lightweight structures, revolutionary chassis, and extraordinary experimentation speed, these independent teams turned small technical workshops into formidable opponents, capable of beating Maranello on the track and forever changing the balance of the championship.
