The show

The Ugo Guidi museum in Forte dei Marmi from 27 May to 9 June hosts the solo exhibition of the artist Franco Girondi with inauguration on 27 May at 17.00; on this occasion the monographic book “Franco Girondi”, Il Rio edition, edited by Silvia Landi, will be presented. The exhibition sees the curatorship of Silvia Landi and Giacomo Mozzi and during the inauguration the interventions of Lodovico Gierut and Vittorio Guidi.

Franco Girondi is an artist from Mantua who studied in Milan. Graduated in industrial chemistry, but always passionate about materials and art, he decided to pursue an artistic career by training in Milan in the 60s, where he met, among many others, Burri and Fontana. In 2017 he celebrated 50 years of artistic profession and it was an opportunity to be able to retrace his place and interesting path. The book "Franco Girondi" edited by Silvia Landi is a real tribute to this artist and the effective contribution he has brought to contemporary art.

Silvia Landi, curator of the volume and personal exhibition dedicated to Franco Girondi, sees in the works the representation of the emotions that the artist himself wants to express: "Contemplating a work by Franco Girondi, to appreciate the mastery of his compositions full of emotions is the best therapy for the mind: admiring its technical capacity and formal balance lightens the spirits from the ugliness of the world around us. Girondi, in painting, narrates his life journey and unites the tastes of all ages to spread the beauty and passion of making art with a rare grace.”

Giacomo Mozzi, curator of the exhibition, dwells on the variety of materials and techniques used by Girondi: "Art as emotion through different techniques and materials, these are the works of Franco Girondi. Various materials that try to convey different emotions, different moments and moments, but all always in harmony. An articulated artistic path that goes from collage, even of different materials, to painting on canvas and on fabrics of various kinds.

The art critic and journalist Lodovico Gierut analyzes Girondi's works in their entirety and complexity: "Franco Girondi's creative intensity is expressed through the use of variegated expressive techniques implemented with a common thread in which, like of a stage with several characters talking to each other, explore our contemporaneity by analyzing its lights and shadows through symbols, signs and signals not without a strong social commitment.”
