Three more months to discover the countless artistic interpretations of one of the most famous and symbolic episodes in the life of St. Francis: the encounter with Brother Wolf. The exhibition, entitled: "Francis and Brother Wolf. Art tells the legend of the encounter", promoted by the Municipality of Gubbio, the Eugubine Church, the Civic Museum of Palazzo dei Consoli and the Diocesan Museum of Gubbio, with the organization and support of Opera Laboratori, will be extended until April 19, 2026. In just over three months, the exhibition, inaugurated last September 27 and initially scheduled to close on January 11, 2026, has been visited by over 10,000 people.

The initiative is endorsed by the permanent city committee "Francesco a Gubbio", the National Committee San Francesco 800 and the Italian Alpine Club, and represents the beating heart of the celebrations for the Eighth Centenary of the death of the Saint, scheduled between July 2025 and December 2026.

A true exhibition-event that brings together for the first time over 250 works including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, manuscripts, engravings, and illustrated books, from Italian and foreign museums, archives, libraries, and private collections. Among others, visitors will be able to admire masterpieces by Gerardo Dottori and significant examples of 20th-century Eugubine ceramics, up to contemporary interpretations by artists who have reinterpreted the symbol of Francis and the wolf in a modern key.

The exhibition path, spread across three locations including the Civic Museum of Palazzo dei Consoli, the Diocesan Museum, and the Logge dei Tiratoi is divided into multiple sections, dedicated to the iconographic evolution from the 15th century to the present day and its dissemination, the language of ceramics, 20th-century art, and the most recent creations.
