Shibden Hall is a historic house in Shibden, in the city of Halifax. It is one of the museums that is part of the Calderdale Museums. The building is distinguished by its Tudor-style half-timbered facade. The house dates back to around 1420 and for the next 300 years, starting in 1615, it was in the hands of the Lister family, wealthy mill owners and textile traders. The estate was donated to the city of Halifax in 1926. The park and surrounding gardens were restored between 2007 and 2008 and show an exhibition of dry stone walls. Today Shibden Hall houses the "West Yorkshire Folk Museum", in an adjacent barn and in several buildings for agricultural use. Inside Shibden Hall are a variety of restored workshops, including a brewery, basket shop, tannery, stable, and extensive collection of horse-drawn carriages. oak, contains a square piano, dated 1769, by John Pohlman.
