The relationship between art and machine learning is evolving very rapidly. Today, artists can teach machines how to generate images, transferring knowledge and techniques, and receive from them the opportunity to explore new aesthetic and perceptive horizons.

The temporary installation of Quayola's Machine as Muse presents a work from the series Storms - thanks to the collaboration between Fondazione Ago, the artist, and the Italian Embassy in Doha that brought Quayola to exhibit in Qatar at the M7 Museum with the support of the DGCC of the Ministry of Culture - alongside two works from the series Giuditta e Oloferne, already present in the collections of Fondazione Ago. Accompanying the display of this experimental hybridization between art and technology is a video interview with the artist.

Quayola uses technology as a lens to explore tensions and balances between seemingly opposing forces: the real and the artificial, the figurative and the abstract, the old and the new. Through immersive installations, he reinterprets the traditional imagery of art history. His diversified practice, entirely derived from custom software, also includes audiovisual performances, immersive video installations, sculptures, and works on paper. His works have been presented and exhibited in numerous prestigious institutions worldwide, including: M7, Doha; V&A, London; Park Avenue Armory, New York; National Art Center, Tokyo; UCCA, Beijing; How Art Museum, Shanghai; SeMA, Seoul; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Sonar Festival, Barcelona; Sundance Film Festival; Ars Electronica, Linz, where he received the Golden Nica Award in 2013. A frequent collaborator in musical projects, he has worked with composers, orchestras, and musicians, including the London Contemporary Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Bordeaux, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Vanessa Wagner, Jamie XX, Mira Calix, Plaid, and Tale Of Us.
