The show

Now in its sixth edition, the Marenostrum, International Festival of Photography of the Mediterranean, will take place for the first time in Palermo from 20 November to 12 December 2021, at the Sala Cavallerizza of Palazzo Sant'Elia.

Born in Mazara del Vallo, a place characterized by strong religious, artistic and cultural syncretism, the festival over the years has hosted photographic exhibitions signed by the most prestigious names on the international scene that have had the Mediterranean as their focus, documenting humanitarian disasters, migrations, wars, famines , rescues at sea.

The festival organized by the Cultural Association I Vicoli del Mediterraneo avails itself of the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Palermo.

The photographic exhibition conceived for this edition will tell about the women and children who are the main victims of humanitarian crises, migrations and humanitarian disasters, but also Mazara and Palermo, which have always been multiethnic and multicultural cities sensitive to fundamental rights.

Among the numerous artists present: Afshin Ismaeli, Alessandro Grassani, Alessio Romenzi, Olmo Calvo.

In addition, during the days of the festival scheduled round tables, workshops and concerts, linked by a single common thread, the Mediterranean.
