From 13 December to 1 February 2026
From December 13, 2025 to February 1, 2026, the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi directed by Maria Giuseppina Di Monte and belonging to the Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo Institute - National Museums of the City of Rome led by Luca Mercuri will host the solo exhibition of Salvatore Dominelli entitled Beyond decorum. Between pigment and geometry.
The exhibition, curated by Maria Giuseppina Di Monte with the collaboration of Veronica Brancati, is divided into three rooms and fits harmoniously with the heritage and themes of the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi. As a guardian of a precious tradition dedicated to decorative and applied arts, the Casa Museo represents the ideal context to enhance and deepen Dominelli's artistic journey.
The exhibition presents a wide variety of objects: ceramic plates, small sculptures, drawings, screens, and a work table that houses twelve plaster sculptures, each evocative of a month of the year. The forms that make up the exhibition corpus arise from a careful and participatory observation of reality by Dominelli, who draws inspiration from the elements of the world around him. Plates, screens, sculptures, and drawings decorate and animate the space, configuring themselves as supports for an essential geometry. These artifacts express themselves through a visual language composed of shapes and graphic signs that intertwine in contrasts between black and vibrant colors. The preference for the purity of primary colors gives the works an intense expressive charge, capable of capturing attention and emotionally engaging.
