The Royal Park of the Reggia di Caserta hosts the exhibition 'Planet' by Lucia Ausilio. The inauguration will take place on Saturday, November 15th at 11:30 am in the Old Wood.The exhibition, curated by Alessandra Pacelli, was selected by the Museum's Scientific Committee as part of the Participatory Enhancement Call.
Contemporary art will be hosted in the Old Wood and in the Castelluccia, guiding visitors through an unprecedented narrative. With "Planet," the Neapolitan artist exhibits insects painted in a street-art style on metal surfaces in the spaces of the ancient fort, while sculptures of large and small formats are installed among plants and trees, almost hidden in the dense vegetation, in a path that ideally merges nature with creative gesture in an indissoluble bond. The works - monumental heads and tiny terracotta faces with their gaze turned towards the sky - extracted from the usual space-time contexts - become bearers of a new dreamlike power but also of a new ecological discourse in defense of a planet in distress. "The forest seems to come alive with unexpected apparitions and poetic enigmas - explains the curator - following Lucia Ausilio's belief that natural components should be listened to until they become an integral part of the artwork."
"The exhibition becomes an opportunity to renew the gaze on the places of the Reggia di Caserta, inviting to grasp their vitality, evocative power, and ability to regenerate over time - writes director Tiziana Maffei - The presence of Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise, now an integral part of the Park's landscape, testifies to the Reggia's openness to the contemporary as an opportunity for dialogue and sharing. In this context, Planet fits in with natural harmony."The exhibition will be visitable, with a ticket/subscription to the Museum, every day the Royal Park is open.
