From 11 April to 13 July 2025
The large retrospective exhibition dedicated to Germano Sartelli, which Imola Musei dedicates to the artist from Imola on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, will open on Friday, April 11, and will be set up in the exhibition spaces of the Museo San Domenico until July 13, 2025.
"Germano Sartelli. The enchantment of matter," curated by Claudio Spadoni, summarizes the entire creative journey of the artist with over seventy works, from the very early collages of the second half of the Fifties to the large corten sculptures and the worked papers of his last season.
The exhibition is organized by the Municipality of Imola - Imola Musei, thanks to the precious collaboration of the Sartelli family, the support of Con.Ami, the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Imola Foundation, and the support of the Casa Sartelli Association and Cefla.
Germano Sartelli was among the most precocious artists in Italy to base his poetics on the use of non-pictorial materials, being able to select and manipulate the most humble and worn remnants of the natural or technological world, giving them a surprising lyrical and emotional charge.
