Always one of the symbols of the Egyptian Museum, the statue depicts the famous pharaoh Ramesses II, one of the most famous characters of ancient Egypt who, in his over sixty years of reign, expanded and strengthened the country's borders. The statue is a beautiful example of the art of the period: the robe worn by the sovereign is similar to the one he should have worn in reality, the feet fit sandals and the pierced earlobes resume the typical fashion of the previous Amarnian era.
