In the middle scene, on a steep rocky landscape, various episodes greatly extended in time are noticed; starting from the right, you can see the Greeting to the parents with Saint John leaving his father and mother to withdraw into the desert; then Saint John in prayer facing an angel who hands him the Cross, executed in dry and now almost disappeared. In the leftmost part, you can see the Preaching of the Baptist in front of the crowd with Christ blessing him from behind a rock, as a symbol that his public life has not yet begun.
